Training of Trainors for the Bangsamoro youth Commission – Registration and Accreditation Program (BYC-REAP)
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from Sam Galope, a passionate advocate for Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) with extensive experience in technology and community empowerment. Sam has dedicated his career to helping underrepresented communities harness the power of technology for positive change, including his work developing the BYCREAP platform, which empowers youth organizations in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region with essential tools and resources.
Overview:
The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), established under the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 10, functions as the principal policy-making and coordinating body of the Bangsamoro Government on youth matters. As an extension of the Office of the Chief Minister, the BYC ensures that all regional ministries, agencies, offices, and entities align their efforts to foster youth development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
In alignment with this mission, the BYC-REAP (Bangsamoro Youth Commission Registration and Accreditation Program) aims to unify and formally recognize youth organizations. This initiative will strengthen their advocacy activities, promote social cohesion, and reduce the vulnerability of youth to extremist influences. The BYC-REAP not only provides official accreditation to youth organizations but also opens avenues for international support and resources to advance their initiatives.
